A 20-year-old man passed on at a Nairobi Estate after he fell from a balcony during a party session with friends.
Gachui Karanja was in the group of about eight people who were merrymaking on the fifth floor of the apartment before the tragedy struck.
According to the Star, his friend thought he was out talking on the phone when they noticed his absence.
They, however, heard him screaming before they again heard a thud on the ground.
They rushed to the ground and found Karanja in a pool of blood dead.
He is said to have hit the ground with his head. The tragedy happened over the weekend at a house in the Riruta area.
Nairobi police boss James Mugera confirmed the incident. He said they visited the scene, interrogated the group of friends before taking the body to the morgue.
“We suspect he was intoxicated at the time he fell but we are also investigating to establish if there were other issues that led to this tragic incident,” he told the Star
A requiem mass was held for the victim on Monday where he was celebrated as a young and promising man who died too soon.
