Murang'a Woman Representative Sabina Chege has been handed a major boost by the High Court.

Murang'a Woman Representative Sabina Chege has been handed a major boost after the High Court quashed summons by the IEBC over vote-rigging claims.

In the ruling by Justice Antony Mrima, IEBC code of conduct does not apply to Sabina yet as candidates in the forthcoming General Election have not been determined.

"The code of conduct does not apply as candidates have not yet been determined and subscribed to it. IEBC committee does not have jurisdiction to issue summons.

"The committee lacks jurisdiction to issue the summons to the petitioner," Justice Mrima ruled.

During a rally in Vihiga County, Sabina appeared to suggest that votes might have been rigged in President Uhuru Kenyatta's favour.

Speaking after the ruling, Sabina urged the electoral body to turn their attention to the August general election and ensure it's free and fair.

"Saa zile nilisema baba ni peoples project na tukaambia watu wafanye regisatrion, ili wahakikishe Baba atakua State House, IEBC ikaanza kisirani. Leo Koti imeamua waachane na mimi wachunge Kura. Tumshukuru Mungu," Sabina said while campaigning in Turkana.
