Traffic officers and other police divisions will be available to offer directions.

Traffic will be affected on Friday as the country will be holding a state funeral for fallen Kenya's third president Mwai Kibaki.

National Police Service Spokesperson Bruno Shioso has announced that the State Funeral to be held at Nyayo Stadium will see some roads closed for public use.

This is to allow the procession of retired late President Kibaki's body to the Stadium.

The Kenya Defence Forces will have a procession to the Nyayo Stadium via Kenyatta Avenue, Uhuru Highway and Aerodrome Road.

"Motorists are advised to avoid Aerodrome Road and a section of Uhuru Highway between Nyayo House and Lusaka roundabouts from 7:00 am," Shioso said in a press statement.

Vehicles driving to the city from Waiyaki Way towards Mombasa Road to divert at Nyayo House Roundabout and join Kenyatta Highway towards Moi Avenue.

"Head to Haile-Sellasie Roundabout then towards City Stadium onward to Mombasa Road," he added.

Motorists from Mombasa road heading towards the CBD and Westlands have been advised to use the Southern Bypass or Likoni, Enterprise and Lusaka roads to avoid inconveniences on Uhuru Highway.

Only vehicles with parking access stickers will be allowed to park within the Nyayo Stadium premises.

"This is due to the high human and traffic-congested expected."
