The interview which was nearing its completion ended prematurely after it experienced technical hitches

Kenyans were on Sunday evening left wondering after Deputy President William Ruto's interview with NTV ended prematurely.

The unfortunate event happened even as Ruto and his host Joe Ageyo, were finalizing their interview.

DP Ruto was being interviewed on what he will do should he fail to clinch the presidency in the August polls.

However, after answering the first question, the show ended prematurely as the DP was speaking about whether he is planning to challenge the results under any circumstance.

Back at the NTV studios, News Anchor Mark Masai was forced to shed light on what happened at Ruto's Karen home which led to the premature end of the interview.

While offering his apology to the disgruntled viewers, Mark said the show had experienced technical hitches leading to the premature ending.

"As we dive into sports, just a disclaimer there, I am as surprised as you are at the premature end of that interview. Just as DP William Ruto was wrapping up, we had a technical hitch and the technicians are trying to figure it out. We hope that Ruto will keep his word and offer us another interview as soon as he launches his manifesto," stated Mark Masai.

He, however, promised that the full interview will be uploaded to the station's platforms for Kenyans to access.

Earlier on, Ruto had maintained that he will accept the outcomes of the polls and proceed to spend time with his grandchildren.

Ruto said he will be satisfied and support the winner as he becomes part of the Kenyan society.

He went ahead to thank Kenyans for the opportunity to serve as their Deputy President for ten years, saying that was an opportunity he will greatly cherish in his life.

"If I will not win in August, I now have a number of grandchildren also and I will be satisfied and spend time with them. Millions of Kenyans have not gotten to be deputy president and I really thank God that I have gotten the opportunity. From where I came from, this is very satisfying for me and I consider it a huge achievement.

"I will be so satisfied that I did my best and served my country fully. I will support whoever will have been elected by the people of Kenya and be part of the Kenyan society," he said

Asked whether there are any circumstances under which he will not accept the outcome of the elections, Ruto promised that he will not organize any demonstrations or pull down any railway line.

"I want to promise you that I will not organize any demonstration or pull out the railway line. If there will be any contest for elections for any reasons..." stated Ruto before the show was ended prematurely.
