Kenya Kwanza Presidential running mate Rigathi Gachagua was leading the rally under the banner "Mt Kenya Express".

The Senator on Wednesday was engaged in a war of words with Tujibebe Governor Aspirant William Kabogo with reports claiming the former had denied the latter a microphone.

It is then that Kabogo pulled out his microphone and lashed out at Wamatangi.

The Senator, who is also eyeing the governor's seat, fired back at Kabogo turning the rally into a war of words.

While explaining the chaotic incident, Wamatangi appeared to blame his opponent for the chaotic scene.

He seemingly blamed the standoff on a heckling incident that was organized to dim his chances of shining at the rally.

"We will not allow the old-type politics of violence, bullying and heckling to rule Kiambu. It is time for selling serious agenda to the people. It is time to march forward, and we will not go back to the past. It is time to take Kiambu to the future it deserves," he said in a statement on social media.
