Police suspect it could have been an inside job.

Thugs broke into Governor Anyang' Nyong'o's rural home in Ratta village and made away with food and clothes.

Nyanza regional police boss Karanja Muiruri  confirmed the incident.

Mr. Karanja said that investigations into the incident had kicked off led by a team of police officers who were dispatched to Nyong'o's home.

Reports indicate that it could have been an inside job.

The Nyanza regional police boss mentioned that they would record statements from people who were guarding the Governor's home and neighbours.

"We are investigating all angles to find out why the thieves broke into Nyong'o home which is under 24 hours surveillance by officers assigned by the government," he stated.
