The Kenya Airways flight has been forced to return to Nairobi.

A Kenya Airways flight to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, was on Monday, July 11 forced to return to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) in Nairobi due to bad weather.

In a series of tweets on Monday, July 11, by Feature Story News correspondent, Coletta Wanjohi disclosed that Bole International Airport in Addis Ababa had been temporarily shut down.

The journalist said that the flight was already enroute to Nairobi as the bad weather had persisted at the airport.

“Kenya Airways flight from Nairobi to Addis Ababa forced to return to Nairobi after it couldn't land because of bad weather. Pilot says Addis Ababa has temporarily shut down the airport and so we are back in Nairobi,” Wanjohi tweeted.

Wanjohi further shared photos of Ethiopian Airlines planes at the JKIA waiting to be cleared for Addis Ababa.

“Some Ethiopian Airlines planes at JKIA, waiting for Addis weather to clear. Flights cannot land at Bole International Airport because of bad weather,” Wanjohi captioned the photos.

Addis Ababa has in the past days been experiencing extreme chilly conditions which create poor visibility for pilots in the skies.

One of the Ambassadors in Ethiopia also confirmed that the weather was chill and foggy in the morning hours.
