Garissa Town MP Aden Duale has been re-elected as MP.

Duale who is vying for a fourth time won the race after garnering 9,905 votes.

His closes challenger Nasir Dolal of ODM came in second with 5,972 votes.

"Not because we were the best but we offered -- in The Plan -- viable remedies for the present challenges in Garissa Township Constituency. We won!" Duale tweeted after being declared winner.

Their were reports that the MP, who is a close ally of Ruto, had lost.

The official results have, however, confirmed otherwise.

Garissa Township returning officer Abdi Yunis announced the results on Thursday.

Others were Abdullahi Mohamed of UPIA who got 5,529. Siyad Osman got 952 votes.
