President-elect William Ruto has disclosed that he had a telephone conversation with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
In an update via Twitter on Wednesday, September 7, Ruto stated that they discussed the recently concluded General Election.
"I had a telephone conversation with my boss, President Uhuru Kenyatta. We discussed the just concluded General Election and the transition as envisaged by our democratic tradition and practice," the President-elect said.
Ruto recently said that he had not spoken to President Kenyatta in months but would give him a call to discuss the transition.

The President-elect also added that he took no offense with Kenyatta's choice to support his competitor Raila Odinga.
“I will shortly be putting a call to my good friend President Uhuru Kenyatta. I haven’t talked to him in months, but shortly I will be doing a call to him so that we can have a conversation on the process of transition.
“I know he worked hard in his own way, but the people of Kenya have made a decision, and we have absolutely no issue with the democratic decision of any Kenyan. When I chose Uhuru Kenyatta, I did not give him any conditions. So I take no offence at all that he chose to support another person. And therefore, we will remain friends in the context of where we are," he said.
The President-elect recently said that they would respect President Kenyatta in retirement.
"We will respect the president in retirement. We are not petty or jealous. The President will have a place in the history of Kenya," Ruto stated.
