"Keti tu chini ntakuona baadaye. Mama Rachel yuko hapa atakuona” President William Ruto.

President William Ruto was on Tuesday, October 4, forced to respond after a wailing woman interrupted his speech during the burial of DP Rigathi Gachagua's brother in Nyeri.

The Head of State had already taken to the stage to address the mourners before the woman stormed the venue wailing at the top of her voice as she tried to approach the main dias.

President Ruto, who had just begun his speech, then asked the woman to sit down promising her that he would see her after the funeral.

"Keti tu chini ntakuona baadaye. Tutakuona. Ahsante sana. Mama Rachel yuko hapo atakuona," the Head of State said with a smile even as the woman continued to wail loudly.

The First Lady, who was also attending the funeral, rose to attend the lady before security officials aided her away.

President Ruto continued with his speech maintaining that he wants Kenya to be a place where everyone feels respected.

"Katika harakati hii pia lazima tuvumiliane na tusameheane. We are going to respect everybody, we want Kenya to be a place where everybody feels like they belong," he said.

In his speech, the president further said that the time for contesting was over and it was time for all Kenyans to unite and build the nation.

"Maneno ya uchaguzi na mashindano tumekamilisha, sasa ni nafasi ya sisi wote kuungana ili tuweze kujenga taifa kwa pamoja," President Ruto said.
