A two-year-old boy who had a fork jembe lodged in her head has died while undergoing treatment at the Kenyatta National Hospital.

The boy was out playing with his friends and siblings when one of the children allegedly hit the little boy with the jembe.

The boy was referred to KNH for specialized treatment but he succumbed to the injuries while being operated on.

“The patient had lost a lot of blood and as a result, the clotting process was not occurring as expected thereby delaying the surgical procedure as this would have been dangerous to the patient,” the statement reads.

The statement by KNH however sparked uproar online after the boy succumbed.

Kenyans took to social media to condemn KNH with some saying the hospital failed  to act swiftly in salvaging the hospital.

A section of Kenyans said the hospital took time to respond to the situation.  Others, however, said the hospital had done its best to help the boy.
