James Smartt, the man who paved way for Larry Madowo on the Trend Show on NTV has rejoined Nation Media Group just a few days after the company launched its digital brand.

Smart, is true to his name. He left NTV in 2012 for KTN where he worked for close to five years as an editor and talk show host. 

He rejoins the NMG to spearhead its podcasting chapter, a new dimension aimed at diversifying the content formats on the media house's digital infrastructure.


Announcing the decision to rejoin  NMG through his Twitter handle on Monday, Smart said he was highly passionate about podcasting and was keen to unwrap the potential the field has.

"Excited to join Nation Media Group to lead efforts in podcasting. New territories filled with so much potential and a personal passion of mine for a long time," stated Smart.

He is a 2017 Chevening Scholar and holds a masters degree in International Journalism with a bias in Electoral Behaviour from Cardiff University.

"So, ill be driving this initiative of @NationAfrica PODCAST coverage.Tips/hellos/haikus/rieng find me here [email protected]," he wrote on Twitter, with Tweeps urging him to revamp The Trend.
