Dr. Rasik Kantaria is one of the richest men in the country thanks to his investment in the financial sector, that cuts across three African countries namely, Kenya, Malawi, and Botswana.
He is the founder of Prime Bank in Kenya, First Capital Bank in Malawi, and another bank in Botswana.
Kantaria's Early Life and Education
Speaking in a past interview, he disclosed that he was brought up at his parent's home along Forest Road, Nairobi.
Having been entrepreneurs, his parents instilled in him entrepreneurial skills at an early age which saw him gain interest in the business world.

Not much is known about his early education, but reports indicate that he attended a university in London and graduated with a Bachelor of Economics.
He is blessed with three children, two boys, and a girl.
Founding Prime Bank and Venturing into Business
Having grown up in a business oriented-family, he was motivated to start Prime Bank in 1988. Back then the financial institution went by the name Prime Capital and Credit Finance.
He channeled all his resources into the business and grew it into a multi-billion financial institution making profits of Sh3.5 billion a year.
The bank currently has 23 branches in different parts of the country.

In addition to the bank, he owns Tausi Assurance Company and has also invested in the tourism, real estate, and manufacturing industries.
His success in the business field saw him previously appointed a director at the Deposit Protection Fund Board by the Central Bank of Kenya.
Kantaria's Net Worth
The mogul said he does not know his net worth, arguing that he does not count money because he does not want it to get into his head.
"The moment you start counting money, it will go into your head and it will go into your children's heads...I don't work for wealth, I work to help society. To create employment, educate children, and help sick children get medical care," Kantaria was quoted by Business Daily in a past interview.
Kantaria's Philanthropy
True to his word, he is heavily involved in charity through his family trust that provides prosthetic legs and wheelchairs to those who need them free of charge.
His love for charity earned him an Honorary Doctor of Humanities Degree from the United Graduate College and Seminary in the United States of America.
