The shortlisted candidates will face the interviewing panels on December 13 and 14 for interviews.


Former Law Society of Kenya (LSK) President Nelson Havi has been shortlisted for the position of Solicitor General. 

He is among eight candidates the Public Service Commission Nominated for the post.

Former Kitutu Masaba MP Shadrack Mose is also shortlisted. He unsuccessfully vied for the area MP seat on a UDA ticket.

Others shortlisted are Marykaren Kigen Sorobit, Beatrice Adhiambo Akuno, Paul Lilan, Beatrice Mugeni Meso, Stephen Ochieng Mallowah, and George Kithi.

The shortlisted candidates will face the interviewing panels on December 13 and 14 for interviews.

"Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed at the Public Service Commission, Commission House, Harambee Avenue, Nairobi on the date and time indicated. Candidates should be at the venue at least fifteen (15) minutes before the starting time," PSC said in a public notice.

The successful candidate will take over from Ken Ogeto whose term is coming to an end on March 2023.

The Solicitor General is the accounting officer at the State Law Office and Department of Justice – currently headed by Attorney General Justin Muturi.

The office holder must be a Citizen of Kenya and must have a law degree from a recognised university.

One must also be an advocate of the High Court of Kenya or holds qualifications from a common law jurisdiction.

At least 10 years of experience is required of the applicant. He must also be of high moral character, integrity, and impartiality.
