President Ruto has issued a statement after meeting Western Governors. 

President William Ruto has commended Western leaders for agreeing to work with his Government. 

In a statement on Thursday, December 8, Ruto note that the Governors from the Western region had risen above petty politics for the sake of the people. 

The Head of State kicked off his two-day western tour on Thursday and all the Governors including Fernandes Barasa (Kakamega), George Natembeya (Trans-Nzoia), Wilber Ottichilo (Vihiga), Deputy Governors, and COTU Secretary-General Francis Atwoli were present.

"We salute Governors Fernandes Barasa (Kakamega), George Natembeya (Trans-Nzoia), Wilber Ottichilo (Vihiga), Deputy Governors, a host of elected Opposition MPs, MCAs and COTU Secretary-General Francis Atwoli for rising above party politics and agreeing to walk with us in creating and expanding economic opportunities for ordinary Kenyans. We are indebted to their sacrifice and commitment to our philosophy that it is not about us but the people.

"Commissioned the Kakamega Airstrip, inspected the Kakamega County Teaching and Referral Hospital, and shared our development Plan with the Western Kenya leadership at the Kakamega State Lodge, Kakamega County," Ruto stated. 

Sports CS Ababu Namwamba commended Governor Barasa for being a great host during President Ruto's visit.
