The president is briefed on the results first before he gives a go-ahead for the Education CS to release them.

The absence of President William Ruto from the country has delayed the release of the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education, Nairobi Leo has learnt.

Sources have revealed to this journalist that the results cannot be released if the president is not around.

As was the tradition with the past regime, the president is briefed on the results first before he gives a go-ahead for the Education CS Ezekiel Machogu to release them.

The President, however, is out of the country on an official duty hence the Education CS has to wait for his return before releasing the results.

The President was Sunday spotted at the World Cup finals in Qatar where Argentina beat France on penalties to win its third world cup trophy.

Nairobi Leo has also learnt that the marking exercise ended on Friday and that the results are ready for release.

Reliable sources have informed Nairobi Leo that the results could be out as soon as the President is back in the country.

The sources revealed that anytime from Tuesday, the Education CS could announce the results to the public with Wednesday billed as the most likely date for exam release.

The KCPE exams were held towards the end of November. These results would be the first for CS Machogu to release.
