Three-day-old Baby Found Abandoned Under Tree Near Ngong Church

A baby girl estimated to be about three-day-old was Monday morning found under a mugumo tree near SDA church in Ngong, Town Kajiado County.

The abandoned baby was covered in a white and light blue shawl.

Security guards manning the church's gate narrated that they heard baby cries around 2 am on Monday morning.

The officers said they alerted the police around 6 am who came and found the baby under the Mugumo tree.

Police arrived at the scene and took the baby to Ngong Sub-county hospital where its health is being monitored.

The Police say the baby is in good shape even as they allayed fears that her health could be in trouble.

Kajiado North Sub County Deputy Police Commander Felister Mukunjira said they have launched an investigation into the matter.

The parents of the baby girl were yet to be found by the time of going to press.

The reason why it was abandoned under the Mugomo tree is still the subject of investigation.
