He argues that allegations of cheating must be proved beyond a reasonable doubt for one to be victimised.

Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa has threatened to go to court to petition the Kenya National Examinations Council over allegations of exam cheating at Moi DEB Primary school in Bungoma County.

The MP in a Facebook post divulged that he had asked the Education CS Ezekiel Machogu to re-examine the KCPE exams for the pupils who expressed shock at the outcome.

He argues that allegations of cheating must be proved beyond a reasonable doubt for one to be victimised.

"I have asked CS Education My good friend Ezekiel Machogu to order Re-Examine of the KCPE exams for the pupils of Moi DEB Primary School in Bungoma, commonly known as The Commonwealth. If this will not happen in the next 14 days, I will move to court," he stated.

Adding:

"Examination cheating must be proven beyond reasonable doubt and not through one's conscience and/or imagination. The definition of ignorance is where pupils are punished and no adult in the name of invigilators are prosecuted... Every counterpart must be brought to book na sio tafadhali."

His statement comes after Moi DEB primary school headteacher went viral on social media rejecting the results released on Wednesday.

The Headteacher of the school addressed the press on Wednesday lamenting that the results do not reflect the school since time immemorial.

The top school student scored 365 marks in the KCPE exams with his son scoring 334.

He says he cannot even break the news of his son's performance because the marks are a far cry from his expectation.

"Kwa historia ya hii shule; iwe mwaka tulifunza ama hatukufunza, hakuna siku tumekua na results kama hizi. Mimi nimepigia sub county education director na ako hapa na nikaamua nyinyi wazazi mkuje kuliko kila mzazi anapiga simu," the headteacher said.

"Si watoto wa mbele peke yao ndo marks iko chini, ata pia mimi nimekua mzazi. Mtoto wangu amepata 334, mtoto mwenye alijua amechagua shule kama Maranda. Ata sijamtumia results kwa sababu unatumaje."

The emotional teacher could not even contain his tears as he broke down into tears and sought help to establish what could have happened.

His tears forced his parents and his teacher to try and comfort him but he seemed overwhelmed.

"Hapana wazazi haiwezekani. Mmekua wazazi mkiona watoto mkiwasaidia wakisoma. You have seen us working, inakuaje inafika level huwezi ata kukocompare na shule ingine. Haiwezekani tuu kwa njia zotee ndo sababu tumeita sub county director. And we want to make an appeal, hizi sio results za hii shule," the headteach said.
