President William Ruto was on Wednesday, January 4, forced to explain why he didn't wear his wedding ring during an interview at State House. 

The President had a joint media interview at State House but Kenyans noticed that he did not have his ring as usual during the first part of the Kiswahili interview. 

One of the journalists put the Head of State on the spot on why he didn't have his ring. 

President Ruto explained that he was in a hurry for the Kiswahili interview and forgot to wear the ring in the process. 

"I was in a hurry to come here for the interview, so in the process of all that I forgot my ring. It's very interesting it became a subject of discussion. I thought were having a very serious discussion," Ruto explained. 

However, the President had his ring back during the English session of the interview.

The Head of State touched on a variety of issues including the high cost of living which has become a burden to most Kenyans. 

"If we seriously want to attack the cost of living jigsaw, we must deal with the cost of food. When I came into office, the very first thing I did was to begin the journey to bring back the country to the trajectory of food production.

"We got ourselves here because of 3 years of making the wrong decisions. Within the next 1 year, we will have pulled the country from here, we will have set ourselves on the trajectory that we never again buy unga at 240," he stated. 

The President noted that there would be limited borrowing during his reign as a way of curbing the rsiing debt. 

"Our borrowing is going to be limited to only what we must borrow. We are beginning the journey to grow our own savings and our own revenues," the President said.
