The agitated group of men was heard telling him to go to State House where he met President William Ruto

Lang'ata MP Phelix Odiwuor alias Jalang'o had a rough time on Thursday morning while trying to access Azimio la Umoja Parliamentary Group (PG) meeting in Machakos.

Video seen by Nairobi Leo showed that the first-term MP had arrived at the venue only to be blocked by a group of men from accessing the venue.

The agitated group of men was heard telling him to go to State House where he met President William Ruto on Tuesday together with 8 other ODM MPs from Luo Nyanza.

It took the intervention of Embakasi East MP Babu Owino and Suna East Counterpart Junet Mohamed to finally have Jalang'o allowed into the meeting.

On Wednesday, Jalang'o said that he is still loyal to ODM leader Raila Odinga despite visiting State House.

The first-term MP said he has been part of the Azimio rallies and will continue mobilising crowds for the upcoming rallies beginning including one in Machakos county this weekend.

"I will be there because now that is politics. We have to learn how to differentiate politics and development," he said.

The MP clarified that he only went to State House following the invite of President William Ruto after it was made clear in advance that the agenda would be purely on development.

"What if for political reasons the president who holds the key to these development says okay guys don't go there (Azimio rallies)?" he was asked.
