Speaking in parliament, Mbadi said that he had served the Orange party well and he was now ready to quit as the ODM chairman. 

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga has addressed John Mbadi's recent remarks about quitting the ODM chairmanship. 

Speaking in parliament, Mbadi said that he had served the Orange party well and he was now ready to quit as ODM chairman.  

“Those who think being chairman is so important to them let them offer themselves to lead, I am ready to leave the position to them. I want to leave this position of ODM chair,” he stated.

Responding to the remarks, the former Prime Minister said that he had not heard anything about Mbadi leaving the party. 

Odinga, however, mentioned that those who wanted to Leave ODM were free to do so. 

 “I have not heard anything that John Mbadi wants to resign. Party elections will be done this year. Those who want to leave should simply leave," Odinga said.
