Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) has grounded a chopper owned by Pokot South MP David Pkosing.

The MP's Chopper 5Y-DPL is currently being held at the Wilson airport.

This follows ongoing investigations seeking to unravel whether the chopper could have been involved in banditry activities that is wrecking havoc in the North Rift region.

Speaking on Friday after being interrogated by the DCI, Pkosing confirmed that he owns a chopper.

He however said the white chopper that has been linked to banditry activities is not his.

“The green and white chopper is mine, the white chopper that is doing rounds on social media is not mine. Is it wrong for a Pokot to own a chopper?” Pkosing asked.

His lawyer Danstan Omari defended his client against the accusations directed at him saying his chopper has not taken part in any banditry activity.

“They are now saying that it ferries firearms from Wilson to West Pokot. Yet this aircraft is used by leaders across all divides and cleared by KAA,” said Omari.

Omari further said his client has never been involved in the business of buying and selling cattle.

He termed as witch hunt accusations facing him even as maintained that the MP is innocent.

"We were told to come back and answer to issues of the commercialization of bandits, that the cows are being stolen are normally handed over to Mheshimiwa so he should respond to money laundering,” said Pkosing’s lawyer Danstan Omari.

“He has never been in the business of selling or buying cattle.”
