Ledama claimed the lawmakers betrayed Raila despite campaigning for them.

Narok senator Ledama Olekina has lashed out at a section of ODM lawmakers who have jumped ship to back the government.

The lawmaker faulted the wayward MPs for betraying former prime minister who he said contributed immensely to their election.

Ledama accused the leaders of going against their electorate's will.

"I want to speak about this. There are people who Baba (Raila) suffered in scorching sun to campaign for them. They have now gone to State House. They ought to have given up their seats," he said.

Ledama spoke in an Azimio rally in Kisumu on Saturday, February 18.

Meanwhile, Senator Eddy Oketch of Migori county has addressed a letter to the ODM party seeking the deregistration of lawmakers who visited the president.

Through his lawyers, Oketch also called for the de-whipping of the MPs from all the parliamentary committees in which the party entrusted them to sit.

According to him, the group flouted the party constitution and thus having them would be akin to allowing saboteurs to the core of the good party.

The lawmakers in question included Bondo's Gideon Ochanda, Elisha Odhiambo of Gem, Mark Nyamita (Uriri), Caroli Omondi (Suba South), Felix Odiwuor alias Jalang’o (Lang’ata), Paul Abuor (Rongo), John Owino (Awendo) and Kisumu Senator Tom Ojienda.
