First Lady Mama Rachel Ruto on Saturday hosted Muslim women at State House in Nairobi for Iftar.

First Lady Mama Rachel Ruto on Saturday, April 15 hosted Muslim women at State House in Nairobi for Iftar, the fast-breaking evening meal during Ramadan.

Rachel recognized the important role Muslim women play during this fasting period as the backbone of their families and communities.

She celebrated the role of women as a critical pillar in the family, and even during this month, women are at the centre of breaking fast and hosting Iftar, which brings families together.

The First Lady mentioned that women have a critical role in preserving the sanctity of family and are protectors, and we agreed as mothers to fight for family, especially during modern times when family and children are under attack.

She urged the ladies to be a living example of their faith and to be agents of social change in their families and communities.
