Passaris has been in the eye of a storm after she voted in favour of Ruto's Finance Bill.

Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris has denied reports that she criticised ODM leader Raila Odinga.

This after a quote attributed to her went viral on social media indicating that the Woman Rep had told off Raila Over alleged threats and went on to warn him to stop his incessant calls.

"Wewe Raila acha Kisirani. I was elected to represent the people of Nairobi County and not the Odinga family. Vitisho utapeleka kwako usinipee pressure. Wacha kunipigia Simu. I am not your girlfriend," the quote attributed to her reads.

But in a rejoinder to it, the MP denied uttering such words and maintained that she holds Raila in high regard.

"Treat this fake news with the contempt it deserves. I have nothing but respect for my Party Leader, the Rt. Hon Raila Odinga," She tweeted.

Passaris has been in the eye of a storm after she voted in favour of President William Ruto's Finance Bill.

This was viewed as a betrayal by some Kenyans considering that the ODM party leadership led by Raila called for rejection of the Bill.

The voting for the Bill was also preceded by Passaris attending the National Prayer Breakfast which was boycotted by the Azimio leadership.

Passaris while addressing the media at the function expressed her disappointment with Raila missing saying he ought to have attended.

The comments have rattled a section of Azimio supporters who feel the MP could be on the verge of joining Kenya Kwanza government.
