The comedian accused Dennis Itumbi of publishing his content for political reasons without seeking permission.

A comic from Kitale, Trans Nzoia county, is up in arms after Kenya Kwanza digital strategist Dennis Itumbi used his content to spin an agenda for the government.

Mkenya Isaac, real name Isaac Sichei, accused Itumbi of publishing his video without seeking prior permission from him.

The funny man had uploaded a video detailing how Kenyans will soon experience bumper harvest after a prolonged bout of hunger.

Itumbi used the video to sing praises to the government for giving subsidised fertilisers to farmers.

"The true demonstration of the power of the fertilizer subsidy. A Trans-Nzoia farmer speaks of the bumper harvest ahead. Some are demonstrating violence, the true demos are happening in farms," Itumbi captioned Isaac's video.

Reacting to that, Isaac explained that the original intention of his video was manipulated by Itumbi for political reasons.

He said he filmed himself for entertainment purposes.

"I'm disappointed in you Itumbi. I expected a person of your capacity to be the one promoting young talents across this country.

But it's unfortunate you will go to my Facebook and take a video I uploaded for a different purpose then go upload it on your social media," said Isaac.

The comedian sought to distance himself from the suggestion that he had produced the content to appreciate the government's efforts to enable farmers.

He accused Itumbi of riding on his content for his political expediency without being consulted.

Isaac said he had been receiving calls from people claiming he had been contracted by the government to advance its agenda using his content.

"You earn from what you do, but what of me? People are now saying I'm also a bureaucrat in the government yet that is not true," he said.
