Langata MP Jalang’o has set the record straight on his relationship with Raila Odinga.

Langata Member of Parliament Phelix Odiwuor populary known as Jalang’o has set the record straight on his relationship with Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga.

Speaking on Thursday, August 31 during an interview with Radio 47, Jalango said he has never fallen out with Raila noting that he respects him as his political mentor and father figure.

"I have never had bad blood with Baba (Raila), that's what I want to tell you. I love Baba very much; he is my political mentor, father figure, and everything. I have never wronged him, and I will never leave the ODM party,” said Jalang’o.

The first-term MP disclosed that he will defend his parliamentary seat on an ODM party ticket if a by-election is called.

"2027 is still far away; we have time. Right now, I am in the party, and even if we are told to go for a by-election, I will go and compete with them within the party, and I will still beat them,” he added.

Jalang’o further dismissed claims that President William Ruto is luring to join his Kenya Kwanza coalition.

His remarks come weeks after he was spotted interacting with Raila during a birthday party of Saboti MP Caleb Amisi’s daughter held in Karen, Nairobi.

Since announcing his allegiance with President Ruto, the Lang'ata MP has hardly found time to mingle and hold a conversation with Raila.

In a past interview Jalang’o said while has always been willing to do so, he fears being clobbered by Raila supporters in the event he tries to access him.
