Senator Cheruiyot said they have never received any payment as allowance for the National Dialogue Committee sittings.

Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot has denied a media report that the National Dialogue Committee will spend a whooping Sh106 million.

The committee is a product of President William Ruto and ODM leader Raila Odinga choosing to dialogue to address issues of contention between them.

A media report indicated that the talks will cost Sh106 million.

But in a rejoinder, the Senator trashed the report saying it is not factual.

Co-chairs of the dialogue committee Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung'wah.

"Please establish the facts of any matter before running a campaign on it. We have never been paid any allowance. There has never been a charge to taxpayers on behalf of NADCO. This is your usual hired headlines. Distasteful," the Senator said while reacting to the media report.

According to the report, of the amount, Sh10 million is meant for "document translation" and Sh15,000,000 for the publication of 1,000 copies of materials.

An additional Sh9.7 million has been allocated for contingency.

The report also claimed that Co-chairs of the National Dialogue Committee, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, and National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah are entitled to Sh50,000 allowances per sitting.

The remaining eight members, the report said, are to receive Sh40,000 allowances per sitting.

The technical committee members on the other hand are said to be allocated Sh25,000 per sitting.
