Magoha served as the education secretary under Uhuru’s regime. 


Former President Uhuru Kenyatta was treated to a warm reception during the burial service of Former Education CS George Magoha in Siaya County. 

Magoha, who served as education secretary under President Uhuru, is set to be laid to rest today, Saturday, February 11.

He died on January 24 after suffering a heart attack.  

Notably, Uhuru’s arrival caused a buzz of sorts as funeral attendees rose to welcome him amid cheers as he walked and interacted with those who had arrived earlier at the function.

Uhuru having supported Raila for the top seat in 2022 had become a darling of the Luo community, and his warm welcome at the funeral spoke exactly that.

Various dignitaries graced the funeral service. ODM leader Raila Odinga has also arrived at the function.

 He was equally treated to a warm welcome that brought the funeral service to a standstill.

Former Cabinet Secretaries who served with Magoha are also present.

A section of those who are serving under President William Ruto led by CS Ezekiel Machogu has also attended the burial service.
