He also appealed to Kenyans to be patient as police unravel the mystery surrounding Itumbi's alleged disappearance and subsequent torture.

The public has been urged to volunteer any information that may assist with investigations by reporting at the nearest Police Station or through their hotline numbers 999, 112 or 0800 722 203.

Itumbi was on the morning of Friday, December 24, abandoned at Lucky Summer, Nairobi.

He was found nearly naked and beaten to a pulp.

"My brother has been badly beaten. We thank God that he is alive. On his own account, he was arrested by police and beaten and tortured. Please pray for his recovery. Thank you for your many prayers and support," stated the brother, David Itumbi.

Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen condemned the incident and faulted the police for being behind Itumbi's woes.

"Glad to see our brother Dennis Itumbi is alive. Sad to see him in such pain. Hopeful that he will bounce back stronger.

"Appalled that Police officers who should be protecting him harmed him. May his tormentors who are enjoying power never know peace. Politics shouldn't be done this way," he added.
