This comes a week after Ngirita announced plans to contest for the Nakuru county Woman Rep seat under a Jubilee ticket.

However, Ngirita disputed Ngirita's entry into the party demanding clearance from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

Jubilee party also demanded clearance from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) and the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).

The Ngirita family was shot in the limelight during the NYS II scandal that made headlines for months.

Assets Recovery Authority through State Counsel Peter Ngumi stated that Ngirita alongside three other family members colluded with top NYS officials to steal KSh 465 million.

Ngumi said the money was deposited in their accounts and hurriedly transferred to proxies and that they bought properties to conceal the theft.

Other family members linked to the scandal are Phylis Njeri Ngirita, Lucy Wambui Ngirita and Jeremiah Gichina Ngirita.
