"On that night she took a knife and wanted to stab me," Harrison Mutisya claims. 

Harrison Mutisya Muiva, who went into hiding after allegedly killing his wife Faith Mueni in Machakos County, was arrested on Friday, April 1, 2022. 

Harrison now claims that it was in self-defense alleging that the deceased wanted to stab him on the fateful day.  

"My wife is very arrogant, stubborn, and dangerous. On that night she took a knife and wanted to stab me. I had to defend myself," the suspect claimed. 

Harrison was nabbed by police in Mlolongo after he unsuccessfully attempted suicide in a hotel. 

Police rushed him to a hospital in Kitengela where he was treated before being taken into police custody as police launched investigations.

The suspect is said to have killed his wife last week on Friday at their parent's home in Machakos County in the middle of the night. 

He then fled the scene with the deceased's car Mazda CX5 KCY 848 which was recovered in Makueni County on March 30 where it had been abandoned. 

The body of the deceased was discovered by the suspects' parents in their home. 

She was lying in a pool of blood with her throat partially slit, right-hand cut in several places, and head with deep panga cuts.

Police said they had recovered the murder weapon in the family's pit latrine.
