President William Ruto has appointed six judges that were nominated for appointment by Judicial Service Commission. 

President William Ruto has appointed six judges that were nominated for appointment by Judicial Service Commission (JSC) during former president Uhuru Kenyatta's regime.

President Ruto signed an Executive Order at State House on Tuesday evening appointing the four Court of Appeal Judges and another two Environment and Land Court judges. 

“In exercise of the powers conferred by Article 166(1) (b) of the Constitution of Kenya, I William Samoei Ruto, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Kenya Defence Forces, appoint Makori Evans Kiago and Cheruiyot Omange Judith Elizabeth to be judges of the Environment and Land Court,” the Notice read in part. 

The four Court of Appeal judges are Korir Weldon Kipyegon, Muchelule Aggrey Otsyula, Odunga George Vincent, and Prof. Joel Mwaura Ngugi.

The two Environment and Land Court judges are Makori Evans Kiago and Cheruiyot Omange Judith Elizabeth.

They will be sworn in at State House on Wednesday, September 13, 2022.
