Uganda will be celebrating its 60th Independence Day celebrations today. 

President William Ruto on Saturday, October 8, departed Kenya for Uganda for the Independence Day Celebrations.

He was received upon landing in Uganda by President Yoweri Museveni at State House, Entebbe. 

In an update by President Museveni, the discussions centered around matters of mutual interest for both Kenya and Uganda. 

"I held a fruitful discussion with President William Ruto at State House Entebbe this evening, we discussed matters of mutual interest to our nations and people. Ungana nami kumkaribisha Rais wa Jamhuri ya Kenya," he stated.

On the other other hand, State House Kenya said the discussion between the two Heads of State focussed on diplomatic ties and the enhancement of intra-East African trade.

"President William Ruto and his Ugandan counterpart Kaguta Museveni Saturday held talks at State House, Entebbe.

"The discussion focussed on diplomatic ties and the enhancement of intra-East African trade," State House tweeted.
