Environment and Forestry Cabinet Secretary (CS) nominee Roselinda Soipan Tuya on Wednesday appeared before the National Assembly Committee on appointments. 

Environment and Forestry Cabinet Secretary (CS) nominee Roselinda Soipan Tuya on Wednesday, October 19, appeared before the National Assembly Committee on appointments. 

Soipan Tuya told the vetting panel her financial net worth was Sh156 million which comprises homes in Nairobi and apartments in Narok counties. 

"My total net worth is KSh. 156M; I have three homes, motor vehicles, apartments, plots of land and a dairy business," she stated. 

In her opening statement, Tuya stated that she was born and raised in Narok County. 

"First, I am honoured and privileged to be among the presidential nominees for cabinet. Being the first Masaai woman to be elevated to such a position, I am grateful and I know the amount of responsibilities that lie on my shoulders," Tuya told the vetting panel.

Tuya is the fourth child in a family of seven and attended primary school in Narok County. 

"I consider myself a product of opportunity. I say this because my father happens to be the only one of his 15 siblings to have acquired an education," she said. 

She completed High School in 1998 and proceed to the University of Nairobi School of Law where she graduated with a degree in law in 2002. 

She has served as the Narok Woman Representative from 2013 to 2022.
