A man has set tongues wagging in the Kimende area, Kiambu county after he allegedly murdered his wife and injured his daughter before taking his own life.

The incident that happened on Friday came in the wake of domestic quarrels pitting the man and his wife.

The two had disagreed and the woman opted to rent a house leaving the husband in their matrimonial home.

On Friday, the man is said to have visited the wife in a bid to woo her back but that failed to work as they disagreed again.

Unknown to the woman and the daughter, the man had carried a panga. Upon the disagreement, he started slashing them all.

The woman died on the spot while the daughter was left seriously injured.

The man thought he had killed them all and rushed out of their house and committed suicide by hanging.

Neighbours alerted the police of the incident and upon arrival, they found the woman had breathed his last while the daughter was alive with deep cuts on the hands and head.

Sub-county police commander Adamson Furaha confirmed the incident.
