The Public Service and Gender CS left President William Ruto in stitches after calling him the Deputy President.

Public Service and Gender Cabinet Secretary Aisha Jumwa has left President William Ruto in stitches after referring to him as the Deputy President.

Speaking on Friday, November 18, during an event presided over by the Head of State in Kwale County, Jumwa said that she was used to the president being the DP.

The CS had just taken over the podium to give her speech before she referred to President Ruto as the Deputy President and

"Mimi nataka kuchukua nafasi hii kwanza kabisa nimshukuru naibu wa..." Jumwa stated before she paused, leaving attendees at the event in fits of laughter.

"Samahani, kuniradi. Tumeishi naye kama naibu wa rais sana," the CS later clarified before she continued with her speech and recognized Ruto as the Head of State.

Jumwa spoke during President Ruto's function to inaugurate the DEVKI Steel Plant in Kwale County.

She said that in her capacity as the Public Service and Gender CS, the ministry had a plan on increasing service delivery in the grass roots.

"Mimi nikiwa waziri wa utumishi wa uma na maswala ya kijinsia na usawa, nataka niwahimize wabunge na pia mashirika na viwanda kama vilivyoko hapa kwamba tuko na mpango wa kuongeza huduma mashinani," Jumwa stated.
