The results set to be released is the last for KCPE exams as a the era of CBC now becomes fully operational. 

The 2023 KCPE exam results will be released on Thursday, November 23, 2023, KNEC has said.

Education CS Ezekiel Machogu will announce the results at KNEC headquarters in South C, Nairobi.

"The Cabinet Secretary for Education, Mr. Ezekiel Machogu will tomorrow, Thursday, 23, 2023, officiate the release of the 2023 KCPE examinations results at the KNEC's New Mitihani House in South 'B' at 8.00 am," a notification by KNEC stated.

The CS on Tuesday said the marking of the exam papers has been concluded and everything is set to have the exams released to allow parents to prepare for admission to form one. 

The CS said form one placement will be conducted during the Christmas Holiday so that the candidates can join form one when schools open in January.

"We have done the marking and it is finished, we are going to release the KCPE exams anytime. Most likely we will also be able to conduct the Form One placement before Christmas so that they can join Form One by at least the third week of January," Machogu said. 

The results set to be released is the last one in the last ones in the history of KCPE considering it was the 2023 exams were the last ones to be conducted.

"We have had the 8-4-4 system for the last 38 years since 1985 and we now phasing out that system. The number of candidates that we had this year was higher than any other year previously 1,415, 315 candidates," Machogu said.

The 8-4-4 system has been replaced with the Competency–Based –Curriculum.

At the same time, Machogu clarified that there were no exams malpractice in the KCPE examinations.

"There were no cases of cheating. No cases of any kind of malpractice. We only had six cases which were only attempts to cheat. Out of 1,415,315 candidates, the only cases that we had were six," he said.
