Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has announced that members of the Qatar Chamber of Commerce will have access to the National Youth Service (NYS) training.
In a statement on Thursday, January 4, CS Kuria said the move will ensure the businessmen acquire a workforce that is based on their specific industry needs.
“The Qatar Chamber Members will have access to the NYS for specialised fit-for-purpose training for their workforce based on their specific industry needs,” Kuria stated.
The Public Service CS noted that there is demand for a workforce that has undergone paramilitary training.
“All over the world, employers are excited about recruiting a highly trained and disciplined workforce that has undergone paramilitary training, technical skills training and mandatory civic duty through the National Youth Service,” he added.

Kuria’s statement came after he met the Vice Chairman of the Qatar Chamber of Commerce Sheikh Mohammed Bin Twar Al Kuwairi in Doha.
On December 8 President Ruto mentioned that the NYS will be an anchor institution for all deployment training programmes for Kenyans seeking to work abroad.
The Head of State pointed out that NYS would be the primary training institution for labour being exported outside the country.
“We have also agreed that NYS and we are already concluding negotiations with Germany, Saudi Arabia and ex other eight countries on the export of labour and the NYS will be the central organization for pre-deployment training so that Kenyans will understand what they need to do as labour exported from Kenya,” Ruto stated.
